I had the awesome experience of meeting a promising group of teens at St. Vincent's SMASH camp. I was already interested in a career in health care, and after doing this camp, I felt like this was my calling. I was so blessed to have this experience and I've learned so much about majority of the professions in health care. I've seen everything from the physical therapy process to a manikin (named Noël) who breathes, talks, and gives birth. I saw a full knee replacement surgery from a clear glass window and I decided surgical nursing is NOT for me. I was pretty grossed out from all the blood and stitches but overall, I wouldn't change my experience. I'm excited about my future career as an RN! ☺☺
